I am honoured to be named Poet Laureate fir the Byline festival. This is the first festival to celebrate independent journalism and free speech. As part of Byline I have curated 'The LIVEwire Salon' showcasing Nymphs & Thugs poets, poetry comrades, rebels and renegades.
LIVEWIRE SALON: Matt Abbott: Rising star on the UK’s spoken word scene. Michelle Madsen: Poet, theatre maker and investigative journalist, writes on fraud and corruption for Private Eye and the Independent. Elvis McGonagall: Stand-up poet and armchair revolutionary. A collection of his poems from 2003 to 2017 entitled Viva Loch Lomond! will be published by Burning Eye Books in Spring 2017. Gemma Rogers: Singer songwriter from West London. Her stories depict tales of modern life in one of the biggest, most vibrant cities in the world. She will bring her trusty ukulele. Sophie Cameron: writes visceral poetry that lives and breathes, vomits and screws, poetry that goes dogging once in a while when the weather is nice. Oli Spleen: Cult memoir Depravikazi was published in 2003 by Running Water Publications. Frontman of The Flesh Happening, Pink Narcissus and Fag Machine.
Kirsty Allison
Kirsty Allison is a writer and poet whose creativity extends across the media and arts. She began as a teenager on pirate radio, writing for magazines, before presenting on late-night TV and DJing internationally, having a band with Irvine Welsh and Kris Needs. Winning awards for radio documentary and indie film, she has had art in the Tate and Oscar Niemeyer, and made clothes for A-listers.
She now edits arts on DJ Mag, publishes her own zine: Cold Lips, and hosts the Sylvia Plath Fan Club anti-literary night, and other events. In demand as a poet, she performs, sometimes with films, usually with bands. Unedited, her hand-stitched poetry collection is highly collectible.

Simeon Turtle
Simeon is a singer/songwriter armed with an acoustic guitar and a thousand pretty melodies.
After graduating from university in 2015, Simeon has ran around three continents, sprinkling fairy dust and writing about the extra-ordinary human condition.
She sings with heartfelt lyrics and pared back vocals, influenced by an eclectic record collection & trips on the back of a motorbike
Henni Linnea and Mark Harris
Mark Harris and Henni Linnea met in Nepal in 2015, and have played music together since.
Mark is a Canadian artist and musician based in Paris. His songs and spoken word ring of sacred profanity and the absurdities of life. His work is at once refreshing but ladden, comical yet sophisticated, symbolic yet blatant, and most certainly entertaining. He currently hosts the Cabaret Voltaire and various music nights in addition to performing solo at other Paris venues. He is currently writing a hiphopera.
Henni is a violinist from Finland based in London. Her playing strikes a rare balance between skill and creativity, combining a classically trained mind with the heart of a minstrel. She can be seen performing in orchestras, basements and Himalayan mountain tops, with a repertoire of classical, cabaret, americana and popular music. Henni is is one of the poetry whores at the Poetry Brothel of London, where as Arctic Trixie, she plays songs echoing Northland legend.

Keleigh Wolf Poetry
Keleigh Wolf is an American poet, activist & journalist. Her work has appeared in anthologies & publications worldwide, & she regularly performs with the London Poetry Brothel in the West End. She is a founding member of The Little Versed Poetry Collective, & is the subject of the short documentary, “Keleigh Wolf: Glowing in the Aftermath.”
Her work is an act of cannibalism & catharsis, using witchy wordplay, gravity-defying gravitas, & pure absurdity – all housed in the lithe frame of her alternate universe. Her first two collections, “The Thanksgiving Room, & “Bacchus’ Bachelorette” will be followed this year with the publication of “Spilling Myself Dry.” from my iPhone

Since his proto-punk rock band The Doctors of Madness was first unleashed on an uncomprehending public in 1975 (the band was supported by the Sex Pistols, The Jam and Joy Division) he has been a Zelig-like figure whose presence has been felt in every corner of London's cultural life. Now comes his solo show An Accent Waiting To Happen.
