Goodnight London + Q&A

Brighton Rocks wining Feature Documentary for 2019

Goodnight London is a love letter and a note of warning to a city that is undergoing rapid change through gentrification and redevelopment.

How has rapid gentrification affected communities and creatives in London? In 2018, the city exists in a transient state, swallowed by cranes, building sites and half eaten streets. Ambitious plans for transport and new developments have closed youth centres, music venues and art studios whilst also removing vast amounts of affordable housing from the city. What does the future hold? Framed by director Oliver Guy-Watkins' personal story of the city, the film features 40 interviews with musicians, writers, activists and artists including Frank Turner, Kojey Radical, Rhoda Dakar, The Pearl Harts, gal-dem editor Liv Little, Jamz Supernova and anarchist Ian Bone.
