A collage of songs, poems and musical improvisations.
Orlando’s songs from the city are located in crowds, in the underground, on passing escalators. Grappling with loss and transformation they hint at a mythic dimension running beneath the mundane.
Annina's poem Landfall is based on a passage from Homer's Odyssey and together with fragments from Shakespeare and T.S. Eliot the recited poetry explores the relationship between people, water and gods (/or spirits).
The improvised musical interludes give voice to the invisible presence the lyrics and poetry are referring to - be it the sea, storms or a sense of fragility. This creates a powerful and atmospheric conversation between words, song and instrument that is at once intimate and expansive.
