Truth for Elephants - or How to Disagree

Kris De Meyer is a neuroscientist at King's College London. His workshop will explore the brain science of how people become entrenched in their views and how it can help us to deal more productively with the rising divisions and political polarisation in society. He co-produced Right Between Your Ears, a documentary about how people can become convinced of something, even if it isn't true, which will be screened at Byline. He has spoken on BBC television and radio about post truth and why fake news can be so believable. From 13 August, he'll contribute as neuroscience agony aunt to BBC Radio 4 series "How to Disagree".
