Back to All Events
From The Crown to American Crime Story to biopics of everyone from Freddy Mercury to Colette, Neil Armstrong, and Laurel & Hardy, the “based on real events” script is having a moment. This workshop will explore the challenges of walking the tightrope between accurately representing the “truth” of a true story without sacrificing dramatic tension.
Ellin Stein has written for publications including The Times, The Telegraph, The New York Times, and Slate, and teaches screenwriting in the MA Scriptwriting program at Goldsmiths.
This workshop is for anyone who is currently writing a film, radio, or television script based on real events, or is thinking of doing so.
